LifeSize Joins Logitech (25th January 2010)

LifeSize has joined Logitech. Logitech’s acquisition of LifeSize Communications for $405M was completed in December.

On 10th November 2009 Logitech announced it’s agreement to acquire LifeSize Communications for $405M. The acquisition was completed on 11th December 2009 and LifeSize is now a division of Logitech.

Logitech is a world leader in webcams pioneering the development of PC-based Video Conferencing. With Logitech’s backing, LifeSize will be able to scale more effectively to deliver technology solutions to more customers and partners around the world.

Combining the strengths of the two companies; camera design, firewall traversal, video compression and bandwidth management, the acquisition is expected to drive growth in Video Conferencing for the enterprise and SMB markets.

LifeSize and Logitech share a vision to make life-like, HD Video Communications as mainstream as telephone calls. We believe that this could be a revolution in the availability and price/performance of Video Conferencing, not just in the boardroom but also at home to the masses.
